Haller Park, Mombassa Kenya
“Much of your pain is self-chosen.”خليل جبران Khalil Gibran
Over the past year I have been learning that life is what you make it.
You can't focus on all of the things that are going wrong you just have to start looking at all of the things going right.
Anyway on to the adventures of today.
I was chased and almost killed by a monkey.
Quite literally my tombstone would've said, "Killed by furious momma monkey. Should've known better."
I got too close to its babies while taking a picture and she chased me.
I swear her eyes looked so sweet one minute then they looked like death in the next instant.
I have never run so fast in my life. Pretty sure I broke a few sprinting records.
Back story: We visited Haller Park today basically a small park where a whole bunch of zebras and crocodiles and fish live. A few giraffes and water bucks live there as well!
We all got to feed the giraffes as well as tickle the giant tortoises. One of which is over 100 years old.
Our guide told us that most of the tortoises live up to and beyond 300 years old.
All in all at least my fight or flight response is working correctly.
